Installing Fonts
Here are directions for installing fonts on various operating systems:
Windows XP
Microsoft has a nice how-to you can read {by clicking here}.
Windows Vista
Microsoft has a nice (but not as nice as the Windows XP page) how-to you can read {by clicking here}.
Mac OSX
- Before installing fonts, you should close any open applications. For some applications, new fonts do not appear in the font menu if you install them while the application is open.
- In the Finder, open the folder or disk that contains the fonts you want to install.
- Select the font suitcases for the fonts you want to install.
- Drag and drop the fonts into the Fonts folder in the Library folder.
Linux
- Close any applications.
- Unzip the font file you downloaded.
- Open up Nautilus, or Konquerer, or your equivalent, and browse to the '.fonts' directory in your home folder. (If the '.fonts' directory does not exist...note the preceding period...you can simply create it now. This is your user-fonts directory.)
- Simply drag and drop the font file into the '.fonts' directory.
