Live Writng Session Begins

The new experiment of Live Writing has begun its first session. There's a new forum all set up for the process, so you should follow the link to check it out and get involved: Live Writing Forum. As this is our first experiment, there is only one entry in the forum so far, so it shouldn't be hard to find the action.

In addition to the forum, I'll be posting regular mini-blog updates via identica: identi.ca/felixruina, so go follow me there!

Another Experiment

It's been a while since we've seen any new content here at BDWHITE.com. Unfortunately, school has taken over my writing schedule, and instead of devoting myself to alchemical computations, I've dived into the world of fencing theologians.

But, fret not. I've a solution...of sorts. I have a major rough draft of an article due on Monday. I've been busy, busy doing all my reading and research, and I'm now at the point of starting to write. So, in the same way that I live-blogged my last Elixir writing session, I thought I would do a similar thing with this paper.

Now, why do this, and why should you care? Well, ultimately, I would love to see something along the lines of an Open Source Theology discussion take place. I know that won't happen with this article, but just as with my first live-writing experiment, I will be doing this mostly for the purposes of seeing what kind of infrastructure would be required to make such an endeavor work. So, the idea is this: I'll be posting regularly, giving snippets of my emerging argument in the forum. With these snippets, you are free to comment, refute, question, support...and ultimately, you can even take those snippets and (properly citing the work) mash them up and create your own arguments/quotes on the topic, or a related topic. This is how theology and the Church work, anyway--the idea here is to just make the process as transparent as possible.

You can expect the first post to happen sometime around 12pm EST, Thursday, 23 October. I'll also be posting mini-updates here on the blog and via identica (identi.ca/felixruina). So, here's going for one more try!
